What happens when one monster collects a monster on a quiet island? Collect unique monsters with different sounds to create new songs! The Korean version of My Singing Monsters has been released!
Roughly translated part of the 몬스터 합창단 description as seen in the Google Play store.

Monster Choir, the English-translated name for the Chinese (怪兽合唱团) and Korean (몬스터 합창단) versions of My Singing Monsters, are special versions of the game licensed to Yodo1 Games only for use in China and South Korea respectively. Monster Choir shares many similarities with the main game, but also features many differences, such as new Monster Variants, a new minigame, and a VIP System. The Korean version uses a completely unique UI skin, while the Chinese version uses a similar UI as the main game before Version 2.0.0. Both versions have all features of the main game up to version 1.3.2.

Monster Choir was supported independently from Big Blue Bubble, and thus these versions were not listed on its website and were almost never mentioned by the developers. Monster Choir Korea had a Facebook page where updates were given. Its last post was posted in September 2015, later being shut down in early 2023. It also has a YouTube channel that posted three trailers.

The game servers themselves had shut down sometime in late 2020. Although download apks can still be found on the internet, it can no longer be played by any means, leaving any original content in the status of lost media.

Gameplay[]

The gameplay for both versions are almost equal to when Rare Deedge was released (the only difference in 몬스터 합창단 interface-wise is the custom, "wooden" interface exclusive to 몬스터 합창단). Two features that stand out are the VIP Monsters and the Gacha Monster variations, for the VIP Monsters, the more you pay for VIP “levels” you unlock VIP Monsters. It also costed Coins to breed Monsters in 怪兽合唱团.

Rockstar DJ Mini-Game[]

Msm c k rockstar minigame

A mini-game existed in 怪兽合唱团, where you played through a remix of Plant Island, Cold Island, Air Island, Water Island, and Earth Island, and tapped to a rhythm, similarly to Guitar Hero.

After you were done playing the mini-game, you would get a rating from 1-3 stars based on how well you did in the mini-game, and it would reward you based on your star rating.

Monsters[]

Main article: Monsters (Monster Choir)

Monster Choir’s most notable feature are the dozens of new Monster variants. These variants can be collected by logging in every day, or spending currency through a gacha machine. The Chinese and Korean versions share many variants, but both have variants unique to them. Monster Choir also has all Monsters from My Singing Monsters up to version 1.3.2.

Notes[]

  • You could buy Monsters out of daily capsules.
  • Both 몬스터 합창단 and 怪兽合唱团 shared some "skins" for some Monsters. For example, both have the "robot" Grumpyre. But both versions have completely different skins for Monsters. For example, 몬스터 합창단 has a blue striped Mammott, but 怪兽合唱团 has a Minion Mammott.
  • In 怪兽合唱团, there are eggs and portraits for the Monster variations, which 몬스터 합창단 does not have.
  • In 몬스터 합창단, the Wubbox's VIP variant's coloring is similar to that of Rare Wubbox.
  • During the Summer Time, Plant Island has a Summer variation.
  • Members of the community gave the "Vegetable" Oaktopus the nickname "Shek"
  • The "Animal Quarrister" is based off of 6 of the animals featured on the Chinese Zodiac calendar.
