My Singing Monsters Wiki

Nestled cozily among the clovers is where you'll find the pocket-sized Ffidyll. A bright-eyed Seasonal with a talent for fiddling and a penchant for partying, it's nonetheless an uncommon sight for the majority of the year. It appears most active around the time of the vernal equinox, which makes sense considering its verdurous presentation. There's a rumor that Ffidyll's snout can be used to sniff out caches of Coins, which it then generously distributes among its fellow Monsters. Even so, the snout's biggest claim to fame has supposedly been to serve as the inspiration for another long-nosed facade.
Monster Bio

Description[]

Ffidyll is a Seasonal Monster that celebrates the Cloverspell season and is found on Faerie Island and Seasonal Shanty. It was added alongside Rare Hawlo on March 2nd, 2022 during Version 3.4.0. As a Seasonal Monster, it is only available at certain times. It is best obtained by breeding Pladdie and Floot Fly. By default, its breeding time is 22 hours and 44 minutes long. Ffidyll has a high Coin production compared to other Monsters on Faerie Island, but it has the lowest maximum income of any Seasonal.

Ffidyll can either be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15, or bred with Schmoochle and Blabbit. Ffidyll has a high production rate, but low maximum income when compared to other Monsters. The Goal for placing a Ffidyll on Seasonal Shanty rewards the player with 5 Diamonds ().

Song[]

Audio Sample:

Instrument: Celtic Fiddle

Performer: Amelia Fraser

Ffidyll's instrument makes a sound akin to a fiddle (or, more accurately, a Celtic fiddle), its namesake instrument.

Breeding[]

Ffidyll can only be bred for a limited time during the Cloverspell season on Faerie Island, or anytime on Seasonal Shanty.

Note that breeding Seasonal Monsters is not 100% guaranteed to get you the Monster. You might have to try multiple times.

(Best choice, 100% chance of a Ffidyll if Rare Ffidyll is unavailable)

Availability[]

For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability

Ffidyll, like all Seasonals are only available during their own season, a weekend Out-of-Season event (6 months apart) and the Anniversary Month Celebration. It is also available to breed at any time on Seasonal Shanty.

NOTE: Ffidyll can only be bred or purchased on Faerie Island during the available dates. Any Ffidylls on Faerie Island that are obtained during that time will stay unless they are sold. However, as stated before, Ffidyll can be bought or bred on Seasonal Shanty at any time, though it is discounted when it is available on other islands. Ffidyll is also obtainable via weekly Scratch Tickets on Faerie Island.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Ffidyll:

Egg Consumption[]

Main article: Zapping

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Ffidyll eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare and Epic Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Ffidyll

Adult Glaishur

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Ffidyll eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Also note that Seasonal Monsters, like Ffidyll, cannot be zapped from Seasonal Shanty.

Notes[]

  • Ffidyll's name is a play on the word "Fiddle", the instrument which it plays, as well as the term "idyll", which means something extremely happy, peaceful, picturesque, carefree, or lighthearted.
    • It may also be a play on the Welsh word for "Fiddle", "Ffidil", being pronounced almost identical to the Monster's name. This may be due to the Celtic theme of the Faerie Island and Monsters.
  • Ffidyll's ability to sniff out coins is similar to the abilities of the Niffler in the Harry Potter series, as part of the Wizarding World franchise.
  • Ffidyll's bio stating that its snout has inspired another "long-nosed facade" seems to be a nod to Floot Fly's appearance. Additionally, the word facade can mean to have a “deceptive outward appearance", and since Floot Fly doesn't actually have a long nose (as it is just part of its mask), it could have been inspired by Ffidyll.
    • This makes Ffidyll the second Monster to be an inspiration to another, the first being Jellbilly inspiring Cybop.
    • This is further implied in Ffidyll's breeding combination on Faerie Island, where Floot Fly is one of the parents.
  • Ffidyll's enhanced breeding time is 17 hours and 3 minutes, referencing the fact that Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17th (3/17).
    • Its maximum Coin income at Level 1 is 1,733, which may also be a reference to this.
  • Ffidyll's release added a new verse to Seasonal Shanty’s song, which is now the only verse that Yool does not play in. It also changed a few other verses of the song, adding Punkleton to the fourth verse and removing the Castle bass from the beginning of the fifth verse.
  • According to the Monster-Handlers, Ffidyll’s tracks are recorded live by Amelia Fraser, the wife of Seasonal Shanty’s composer, Tom Meikle.
  • A group of Ffidylls is called a "Cèilidh".
