My Singing Monsters

Even from afar, the rhythmic booms of the Drummidary can be heard. The Earth Top Boss is perfectly adapted to thrive in the harshest climates imaginable, because it's able to safeguard any supplies or food it may need in its four hump-drums. Over the course of its lifetime, the Drummidary never stops growing, and some specimens in the contemporary era have grown to considerable size - even though the Quint-Element Monster can be sentimental and hold on to keepsakes of its humble upbringing, like its training wheels. Sometimes, it'll gather other percussion Monsters around, and whirl on those same wheels to perform impressive breakdance routines, all while cranking out beastly beats!

Description[]

Drummidary is a Quint-Element Fire Monster that is found on Light Island and Amber Island. It was added alongside Rare Krillby on February 8th, 2023 during Version 3.8.2. As a Quint-Element Fire Monster on a Magical Island, Drummidary is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 500 Relics. By default, its incubation time is 3 days and 8 hours long. As a Quint-Elemental, Drummidary has excellent Coin production on Light Island, , although Quads and their variants are more efficient in maximum income per bed. The Goal for placing your first Drummidary rewards the player with 250,000 Coins and 5 Relics.

On Amber Island, Drummidary is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 40 Relics as a Vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it. As a Fire Quint-Elemental, Drummidary has a superb Relic production.

Song[]

Instrument: Nagadō-daiko (Taiko Drum)

On Amber Island, Drummidary plays its sound on PongPing's first verse, and then plays a thud two times on Candelavra's verse. It also plays at the end of the song with Repatillo, Rootitoot, Flum Ox, Glowl, and Gnarls, and plays a thud in the final measure.

On Light Island, Drummidary plays alongside Blow't, Yelmut, Pluckbill, Tiawa, and other Monsters near the end of the song.

On Mirror Light Island, Drummidary plays at the beginning of the song with Yelmut, Pluckbill, Flowah, and Sooza.

Breeding[]

Unlike in Dawn of Fire, Drummidary cannot be bred. Instead, it must be purchased from the Market. On Amber Island, it must be purchased as an inactive Vessel and revitalized by zapping eggs.

Likes[]

Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Drummidary:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.

Note: On Amber Island, all of Drummidary's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Drummidary's happiness.

Monsters Who Like It[]

The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Drummidary or when Drummidary and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Drummidary's likes as well:

Revitalizing[]

On Amber Island, Drummidary must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Drummidary by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]

Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Drummidary can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40Diamonds. Drummidary requires a total of 1,720Diamonds for all eggs to be filled.

Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.

Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Drummidary's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Notes[]

  • Drummidary's name is a portmanteau of "drum", its instrument, and "dromedary", a type of camel.
    • Ironically, despite the name, the only thing Drummidary has in common with the camel are its humps and probably head. The overall body of Drummidary has more in common with a crustacean, with its pincers and arthropod-styled legs.
      • Drummidary, Mammott, Maggpi, and Wheezel are the only Monsters that are named after animals they are not designed to resemble, with the latter three respectively being a mammoth, a magpie, and a weasel.
  • Drummidary's design has resemblance to a Coconut crab.
  • Drummidary is the last Fire Monster returning from Dawn of Fire to be added to Amber Island.
  • Its grid size is 3x3, unlike in Dawn of Fire, where its grid size is 2x2.
    • There is a possible reference to this change in its bio, stating that “some specimens in the contemporary era have grown to considerable size”.
    • Drummidary and Wynq are the only two Monsters to change their adult grid sizes between games.
  • Drummidary and Gnarls are the only Quints to match the elements of their native islands, as Bowhead has the elements of Cold Island, Tuskski has the elements of Air Island, and Candelavra has the elements of Water Island.
  • Similarly to the other Quint-Element Monsters, Drummidary requires the egg of every monster with a specific element. In this case, it requires the egg of every breedable monster with the Earth Element.
    • This excludes Noggin, however.
    • Torrt also requires only Monsters with the Earth Element, but it does not require the other Natural Quads with the Earth Element, Fire Monsters, or Magical Monsters.
  • Drummidary's sound could first be heard in a YouTube short posted on the official channel, which featured Rare Yelmut.
  • Unlike its DoF counterpart, it's missing the green swirls on its rock shell. Also, its rock shell has less cracks.
    • Strangely, despite this, the swirls can still be seen in that location on its Egg.
  • Drummidary is the third Monster to take up a different amount of space in Dawn of Fire compared to My Singing Monsters. The second was Wynq, and the first was Furnoss (though Furnoss' size was changed to match its DoF size).
  • Drummidary’s MSM styled design was first seen in a loading screen, hiding under the N from Monsters.
  • It is one of only two monsters to have the Earth Element on Light Island, the other being Tiawa. It is also one of only two monsters to have the Air Element on Light Island, the other being Yelmut.
  • On every island Drummidary is on, Tiawa plays with it at least once and vice versa, even in Dawn of Fire.
  • Even though Drummidary is the Earth Quint and the Earth Element is the most prominent in its appearance, it is not and can't be on Earth Island.
  • Drummidary is the only Fire Expansion Quint to go to a Magical Island that is NOT the equivalent of the Outer Island it goes to in Dawn of Fire. Drummidary isn't on Party Island in Dawn of Fire, despite being on its equivalent Light Island in the original game, while Drummidary isn't on Faerie Island in the original game, despite being on its equivalent Cloud Island in Dawn of Fire.
  • Unlike in Dawn of Fire, Drummidary also uses its pincers to produce an instrument.
