Exclusive to My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire
The following article includes content exclusive to the game My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire.
This is the main article for Continent. For the category, see Category:Continent.

The Continent drifts in an infinite expanse. Its Elemental Lands shelter Monster youngsters who grow and play. The Lands are bordered by quiet fault lines. Below, the Continent is hot and active, with a living core of Fire. New Monsters always fit in, and the chorus sings on.
In-game description

About[]

The Continent () is a super Island manifested from the conjoined lands of Plant, Cold, Air, Water, and Earth, and if you include the volcano, Fire.

New players will begin the game in the Plant Lands. Before unlocking them, the Cold Lands and Air Lands will be shrouded in clouds until one reaches level 9 and 19, respectively. The Water Lands are submerged at first, uprooting when one reaches level 30, but its top can just barely be seen in the ocean to the south east. The Earth Lands are submerged too, revealing itself when one reaches level 41. A volcano can also be seen to the east.

The in-game map currently introduces five new Islands; they are referred to as the Outer Islands. The Outer Islands currently present are Party Island, Space Island, Cloud Island, and Cave Island. These Islands can be reached by using the Teleporter. When Monsters teleport to one of the various Outer Islands, they will take on their adult form, as seen in the original game. After being teleported, they will start to sing their part in the new Islands' song.

A fifth Outer Island, Starhenge, can be seen on the map, but it's not related to the Monsters that can be placed on the Continent, but rather another type called Celestials, who are obtained by rolling Cosmic Dice. The Celestials are very unique when compared to normal Monsters.

Song[]

Composer(s): Dave Kerr (1.0.0 to 2.5.0), Sam Clark (PongPing), Tom Meikle (Monsters from 2.9.1 to 3.2.1), and Celestyn (Strombonin). The composer for Hyehehe is currently not known.

It plays at 100 beats per minute to the quarter note in a 4/4 compass, and 100 beats per minute to the dotted quarter note in a 6/8 compass near the end of the song. It plays in the keys of G Minor & Bb Major.

Song Table[]

This chart shows when each Monster is performing. Each part is 8 beats. The number next to each Monster indicates which track is being played at each part.

Obstacles[]

Main article: Obstacles/DoF

Removing the Obstacles from the Continent earns the player Experience (Experience) and sometimes a Diamond (Diamonds (Dawn of Fire)) or a Seedling, and it opens up space to place more Monsters, Decorations, or Structures. The Lands of the Continent are covered in primitive versions of the obstacles from the original My Singing Monsters Islands. The Air Lands have Cacti instead of Yucka trees. The trees on the Cold and Earth Lands seem to be alive rather than being dead like in the original game. The rocks appear more or less similar to their original counterparts, although they correlate to the Medium Rock of each Natural Island of the original game.

Upcoming Monsters[]

The following 2 Mythical Monsters will be released on the Continent in the future.

Lands[]

Misc.[]

Notes[]

  • All of the lands share the same song.
  • The Continent's song is the longest in the franchise, at 3:51 making it one out of the two songs that are 3 minutes or longer in length, the other one being Amber Island at exactly 3 minutes.
  • In the center of the Continent, there is a huge rock with a Castle. This Castle determines how many Monsters can be present on your Island. Like the regular game, it can be upgraded to place more Monsters on your Island. You can now move the Castle as of Update 1.8.0.
  • Unlocking the Cold Lands and the Air Lands clears away the clouds surrounding those areas.
  • The Continent's sea level drops when the Water Lands and Earth Lands are unlocked.
  • The Continent was discovered by Kayna's Map.
  • The Continent is similar to supercontinents such as Pangaea in the real world, many millions of years ago when today's continents were merged into one landmass. In My Singing Monsters, the cataclysm occurred, separating the lands, and the Colossals fused with them, making the Natural Islands in the Contemporary Era, while the volcano became Fire Haven.
  • When you return to the Continent from one of the Outer Islands, a "Help" button appears for just a few seconds. If you tap on it before it disappears, you can see the Continent's info, as well as seeing your Continent's monster checklist. However, the image to the left of the info-box will be bugged, due to the fact that the Continent picture is larger than the frame. There was an easier way to see your monster checklist of the Continent as of Update 1.8.0, but as of Update 2.9.0, the Continent's info can now be accessed again, with the frame now being as big as the Continent picture.
  • In the remix of this Island's song, PomPom includes an unused part from itself (which is included in the game, but can only be heard when the game lags/desyncs), Potbelly and Dandidoo have different voices, and Whaddle and Quibble have slightly different melodies. This can also be heard in the gameplay and announcement trailers. Flowah also includes a sound that used to exist in early updates (Specifically 1.1.0 and lower).
  • In the video Dawn of Fire - the gameplay trailer, an early sound for Sooza can be heard, with a very low sound, playing along with Glowl.
  • In the remix for the Island, the following monsters were heard before they got released:
  • The Continent formerly looped again to Whaddle, Toe Jammer, Noggin, Boskus, and Mammott once at least the first time is repeated, skipping the Dandidoo part. This was changed to looping back to Dandidoo's part as of Version 1.10.1.
  • Currently, a total of 72 monsters can be bought or bred on the Continent, all of them with their own unique sounds.
    • In terms of unique monsters, this Island has the largest amount of any Island in the whole franchise.
    • In terms of total monsters, it's currently the 3rd largest behind Gold Island (112/116), Amber Island (86), and slightly above Air Island (69). (4th if you include the Mirror Islands)
  • This Island is 1 of only 6 Islands in the series to not have any variants (7 if you don't count the Adult/Elder Celestials).
  • There used to be a Fire Lands, as told by the description of an unused crystal known as Pyrozite.
  • There exists an unused Earth Land structure called the "Deconstructor" that became the remains on Mirror Earth Island.
  • In order to fit every monster possible on the Continent, you would need at least two fully upgraded Castles, if you didn't count the hotel. This would be quite difficult for a normal player, due to the fact that you need 750 diamonds to fully upgrade a Castle, and the second Castle costs 800 more Diamonds.
  • With the release of PongPing, some monsters on the Continent were bugged and/or didn't play in the song. This has since been fixed when 2.9 launched, although Candelavra's idle animation is still relatively slow compared to the Island's BPM. With the release of G'joob and Yawstrich, Candelavra has received a new idle animation which is at the same pace as the Island’s BPM.
  • The Continent is the second Island in the series where Dandidoo plays twice. The first is Water Island.
  • There used to be an early concept version of the Continent (specifically the Cold and Air Lands), which was seen in the icon for the Continent in the first version of the map. It also had an image of the Water Land's unused special structure called the "Wishing Well." It is also what Mirror Water Island has destroyed.
  • Various Structures seen on the Continent can be found on the Mirror Islands in the original game.
  • According to Maggie Park, the lyrics "Hey everybody, come on, let's go", similar along the lines of Tribal Island and Party Island, is "an invitation because we want people to join us, and it's an invitation to participate and to come along for the ride".
  • In a YouTube comment[1], Dave Kerr referred to the Continent as "Core Island". This is likely the original name of the Continent.
  • The Continent is the biggest Island in the whole series, with there being 2,288 usable squares on it's grid.
  • Since Update 3.1 with the addition of G'joob and Yawstrich, there was a visual bug in the extended verses where it shows Furcorn and Yool singing, although they didn’t make any sound. This has been fixed as of version 3.2.0.
  • The Water and Earth lands on the old model of the Continent (prior to the Market update) are lost media as no pictures or footage has been found of any player in 2015 reaching the required level to access the lands before the entire map got remodeled in the Market update. The old sky background design for the Continent map is also lost as well.
