Strategy

As an Air (), Water () and Cold () Monster, Congle is naturally strong against Cold () Monsters and attacks, but are weak against Earth (), Plant () and Water (). Congles have a strong advantage against Mammotts but has a strong disadvantage against Pummels.

Costume Choices:

• Monster Mothma replaces its Musical attack with an Air () attack that is weaker than Muffled Tones. However, it is still useful for Congles level 4 or under. When at level 9 or under however, it is not good against Riff and its derivatives that have Earth () because when equipped, you don't have any musical moves, and the only elemental moves it has is Air (), which are weak against these monsters.
• Water-shellon also replaces its Musical attack. This time with a Water () attack that is weaker than Scrambled Samba. However, just like with Monster Mothma, it is still useful for Congles level 9 or under.
• Catch of the Day is a straight upgrade of the Cold () move. Since it does not replace Eggshell Swell and is stronger than Turbo Tumbao, it is the most recommended of the three Costumes.

Notes

• The costume Monster Mothma is possibly a reference to Mothra and the 1961 film of the same name.
  • It could also be a reference to Mon Mothma, a character in the Star Wars original trilogy.
• When using "Eggshell Swell", it sounds similar to "Conga" by Miami Sound Machine.
• When using one of its Costume moves, "Water-shellon", it sounds similar to "Watermelon Sugar" by Harry Styles.
• The Monster Mothma costume is regularly blue, but in some promotional images and previously on Steam, the wings of the costumes were cyan instead.

  

  • The Costume Rack shows the cyan Monster Mothma costume instead of the blue version used in-game.
• Update 3.2.0 permanently changed the price of many costumes. Monster Mothma changed from 65 (discounted) and 97 (full price) to 15 (discounted) and 22 (full price).
• Congle has the most amount of costumes with moves weaker than their respective natural move, with two in total.
