“ | At the turning of the year, Monsters of all kinds set aside time to reflect on the year that's passed and observe the renewal of the Crescendo Moon. That's when the Seasonal Carillong loves to 'chime in!' This charming Mon-drake (or Monster-dragon) seems to be magically suspended in a state of jubilant youth and never appears to age. No matter what dimension it inhabits, it is never separated from its beloved Chimekeeper, a golden instrument of musical and chronomagical power. Each different color bell of the tintinnabulum is said to have its own special significance, and the Carillong takes its duty of ushering in the new year very sincerely. | ” |

Description[]
Carillong is a Seasonal Monster that celebrates the Crescendo Moon season and is found on Magical Sanctum and Seasonal Shanty. It was added alongside Rare Bridg-it on January 12th, 2022 during Version 3.4.0. As a Seasonal Monster, it is only available at certain times. It is best obtained by breeding Roarick and Mushaboom. By default, its breeding time is 1 day, 3 hours, 9 minutes, and 32 seconds long. Carillong has a very high Shard production compared to other Monsters on Magical Sanctum.
Carillong can either be teleported to Seasonal Shanty once fed to level 15, or bred using Yool and Schmoochle. Carillong has a decent Coin production compared to other Monsters on Seasonal Shanty. The Goal for placing a Carillong on Seasonal Shanty rewards the player with 5 .
Song[]
Sample:
Instrument: Pamade
Carillong hits the chimes it is holding with its tail to produce the sound of a pamade, similar to Plinkajou.
VSTs[]
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.

Sound library: EastWest RA
Path: Far East > Perc > Gamelan
SoundFont: Pamade Tuned
Breeding[]
Carillong can only be bred for a limited time during the Crescendo Moon season on Magical Sanctum, or anytime on Seasonal Shanty.
- Magical Sanctum: + Mushaboom and Roarick
- Seasonal Shanty: + Yool and Schmoochle
- Can also result in a Epic Hoola if available
Note that breeding Seasonal Monsters is not 100% guaranteed to get you the Monster. You might have to try multiple times.
- + Carillong and Rare Carillong
(Best choice, 100% chance of a Carillong if Rare Carillong is unavailable)
Availability[]
- For a list of when this Monster has been available, see: Breeding Availability
Carillong, like all Seasonals are only available during their own season, a weekend Out-of-Season event (6 months apart) and the Anniversary Month Celebration. It is also available to breed at any time on Seasonal Shanty.
NOTE: Carillong can only be bred or purchased during the available dates. Any Carillongs on Magical Sanctum that are obtained during that time will stay unless they are sold. However, as stated before, Carillong can be bought or bred on Seasonal Shanty at any time, though it is discounted when it is available on other islands.
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Carillong:
- Xyster (requires level 9) ()
- Viveine (level 9) ()
- Travelers' Sign (level 7)
- Trumplite (level 11)
- Fire Bush (level 5) ()

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Shards per hour and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Magical Sanctum[]
Seasonal Shanty[]
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

More info can be found in the Feeding article.
Egg Consumption[]
- Main article: Zapping
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Celestials can be used to "dispose of" Carillong eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Celestials; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Carillong eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs. Also note that Seasonal Monsters, like Carillong, cannot be zapped from Seasonal Shanty.

Notes[]
- Carillong's name comes from carillon and "long", the PinYin of the Chinese character 「龍 or 龙」which means dragon. The name could also be a corruption of the idiom "carry along", which means to have something with you and have it handy at all times, hence the fact that it wields a pole-shaped tintinnabulum, or perhaps it means to "carry along" traditions.
- Carillong was first teased in “The More the Merrier” promotion in Festival of Yay 2021, along with Rare Bridg-it.
- Carillong and Rare Bridg-it were also the first new Monsters to be released in 2022.
- Carillong's enhanced breeding time is 20 hours, 22 minutes, and 9 seconds, and its max income at Level 1 is 2,022 Coins. These are both references to its release date in the year 2022. The 9 seconds could be referring to it being the 9th Seasonal Monster released, or referring to My Singing Monsters being 9 years old. The number 9 is also associated with Chinese dragons.
- Carillong's default breeding time is 1 day, 3 hours, 9 minutes, and 32 seconds, and the digital root of all of those numbers combined is 9, although that might be a coincidence.
- Carillong shares many similarities with Dragong:
- Both are based on Chinese dragons.
- Both have their names ending in -ong.
- Both live on islands in the Pocket Dimension.
- Both of their Rare variants are blue.
- Both play their instruments using their tails.
- Both celebrate Crescendo Moon in some way - Carillong is the Seasonal of said event, while Dragong has a Crescendo Moon costume.
- Both reference the number 9 in some way, due to 9 being a number associated with Chinese dragons:
- Carillong was the ninth Seasonal Monster to be released, and its enhanced breeding time is 20 hours, 22 minutes, and 9 seconds.
- Dragong is the ninth Double-Element Ethereal in elemental order.
- Carillong was the first Aux. Seasonal to be released that does not require Punkleton to breed it on Seasonal Shanty.
- Since Yool takes 36 hours to breed and Schmoochle takes 32 hours (non enhanced), the two longest breeding times out of the Core Seasonals, Carillong has the longest breeding failure time out of any Common Monster on Seasonal Shanty.
- Strangely, Carillong does not touch the two chimes on the shorter side of its tintinnabulum.
- Carillong's Decoration Likes (besides the Crescendo Moon Path) are the same as Noggin's.
- When it was first added to Magical Sanctum, Carillong could not be teleported to Seasonal Shanty. It was made able to do so as of Version 3.9.0.[1]
- Carillong is one of two Seasonals capable of producing Shards. The other is Monculus, as it is on Ethereal Island and Wublin Island.
- Due to its breeding combination only consisting of the Light, Faerie, and Bone elements, Carillong would be with Mushaboom on any Island with standard breeding mechanics.
- Carillong is the only Seasonal that is sitting on the ground instead of standing or floating.
- It is one of 10 Monsters on Magical Sanctum that do not play in the final verse, the others being Floot Fly, Osstax, and the Dipsters.
- Carillong was available to buy or breed starting on January 24th, 2024 in the "Almost in Season" promotion, a week early from its event. The reason for this is so that players can have more time ascending Hornacle to its adult form.
- Due to the varied dates in which Crescendo Moon could begin each year, the Almost in Season promotion will likely appear again preceding some later celebrations, for the same reason.
