| “ | One of the deepest-diving denizens of the living ocean, the majestic Bowhead breaches above the surface and harnesses miraculous ocean currents to levitate ashore and show everyone a whale of a time. By listening closely to the low-pitched, infrasonic sounds echoing along these currents, this Quint-Element Monster memorizes and masters their resonant melodies. Gliding tubercled flippers across its baleen, the Bowhead produces superb, euphonious bass and always gives a 'kriller' performance! It's believed that some of the Water Top Boss's most identifiable traits are also expressed in a land-dwelling cousin. | ” |

Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Breeding[]
Unlike in Dawn of Fire, Bowhead cannot be bred. Instead, it must be purchased from the Market. On Amber Island, it must be purchased as an inactive Vessel and revitalized by zapping eggs.
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree or a Primordial Monster of the same rarity on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Bowhead:

Revitalizing[]
On Amber Island, Bowhead must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Bowhead by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.
Filling In[]
Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Bowhead can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40
. Bowhead requires a total of 1,720
for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Bowhead's inventory with 1
per egg. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Notes[]
- Bowhead's name is a pun on "bow" and "bowhead," with the latter being a species of baleen whale.
- Bowhead, along with Rare Flum Ox, were the first two Monsters to release in 2023.
- Bowhead was also the first unique Monsters in general to release in 2023.
- Bowhead is the second Fire Monster to be released in My Singing Monsters before being released in My Singing Monsters: Dawn of Fire. The first is Kayna.
- Similarly to the other Quint Element Monsters, Bowhead requires the egg of every Monster with a specific Element. In this case, it requires the egg of every Monster with the Water Element. This excludes Toe Jammer, however.
- Hornacle also requires only Monsters with the Water Element, but it does not require the other Natural Quads with the Water Element, Fire Monsters, or Magical Monsters.
- Bowhead is the first 3x3 Quint to be added to the base game.
- Even though it's the Water Quint, it has Cold Island's Elements, as well as Fire. This is because Candelavra had already taken Water Island's Elements plus Fire, and Tuskski had already taken Air Island's Elements plus Fire.
- The Cold Globe being its secret like on Psychic Island most likely references this.
- It was released in the month of January, which is the month of the Ocean's Tears constellation according to Starhenge.
- When Bowhead first released, there were no Monsters that liked it. This was fixed with the release of Wave 12.
- Bowhead's "land-dwelling cousin" that its bio is referring to is Bowgart, because of them having four arms, their base instruments being the same, and the Elements of Plant, Water, and Cold, along with the word "bow" in their names.
- Bowhead's scroll could be seen in a promotional teaser before it was released. It was teased in a promotional image for the 2022 'The More The Merrier' sale. Epic Ghazt, Carillong, and Rare Bridg-it had been previously teased in the same way.
- Bowhead is the first and only Monster to have the Cold Element on Psychic Island. It is also one of only two Monsters to have the Air Element on Psychic Island. The other is Bisonorus.
- Despite Bowhead's bio mentioning that it plays a double bass, the SoundFont it uses is actually an cello, just like its relative, Bowgart.
- Its baleen looks smaller in-game compared to its Fan Kit image.
- The "Tale of a Whale" Costume may be a reference to Moby Dick, a sperm whale that appears in the novel of the same name. The Costume name is also a reference to young Bowhead's bio from Dawn of Fire.
