My Singing Monsters

If you value your dignity, never challenge a Boskus to a thumb war! Years of lib-flubbering with its nasal digit have given this silly Monster a finger strong enough to lift broken-down Diggers and uproot even the most stubborn of stumps.

Description

Boskus' are blue-furred quadrupeds. They have four, long antlers and goat-like legs with hooves. They use their finger above their upper lip in order to produce the Boskus' signature sound.

Song

Audio Sample:

Voice actor: Unknown

Boskus' voice on Fire Oasis is slightly more brassy than its DoF counterpart. It sings alongside Tweedle, Glowl and Maw near the end of the song. On Faerie Island, it sounds closer to its DoF counterpart. It sings alongside Mammott and Kayna. It sings "mom-mom-mom-mom-mom-mom,mom-mom-mom" on Fire Oasis and "om-diddy-dom-diddy-dummm.." on Faerie Island. On Light Island It Duets With Mammott And Kayna

Breeding

It can be breed with the elements Cold and Fire, so it only has 1 possible combo.

Note that breeding double element Fire elementals in the original MSM game is not successful as double-element non-Fire breeding. There sometimes can be breeding failures but you'll still get a Boskus.

Earning Rate and Maximum Income

Earning rate is in coins per hour and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness), also each monster has a limit to how much income it can hold at a time. Increasing the monster's level increases the limit.

Feeding Monsters

Each monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the monster's level increases the coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum coins earned.

Likes

Every monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the monster, the monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a monster will still only increase its happiness by 25%. If there's a Unity Tree on the island, items don't need to be near the monsters. Below are the things liked by Boskus:

Strategy

To see how efficient Boskus is at generating resources compared to other monsters check:

Name Origin

Boskus' name is derived from the word proboscis, the nose of a mammal, especially if it's long and mobile, this might be because the Boskus has one. Also, bos is the Latin name for cattle.

To see all possible names for Boskus, see Monster Names.

Notes

  • Boskus was revealed to be reintroduced in the Fire Oasis reveal.
  • It is the first Fire hybrid with the Cold element to be brought to the original MSM game.
  • On the second and third tracks of Boskus on the light island, you can hear if you pay close attention to the sound used to base the recording of the track. (on the third track you can clearly hear a Furcorn)
  • If you pay attention to the Light Island song, you can hear its voice actor trying not to laugh.
  • Some of its names (Shnawz, Snoot and Tronck) are similar to slang terms for the nose.
