“ | If you value your dignity, never challenge a Boskus to a thumb war! Years of lip-flubbering with its nasal digit have given this silly Monster a finger strong enough to lift broken-down Diggers and uproot even the most stubborn of stumps. | ” |

Description[]
Boskus is a Double-Element Fire Monster that is first unlocked on either Fire Oasis, Light Island, or Faerie Island. It was added on June 19th, 2019 during the 2.3.0 Fire Oasis update. It is best obtained by breeding Mammott and Kayna. By default, its breeding time is 10 hours long. As a Double-Elemental, Boskus does not have a high Coin production. The Goal for placing your first Boskus rewards the player with 25,000 and 2 .
On Amber Island, Boskus is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 10 as a Vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it. As a Double-Elemental, Boskus does not have a high Relic production.
Song[]
Audio Sample:
Voice actor: Dave Kerr (Fire Oasis, Light Island, Faerie Island), Matthew Stewart (Amber Island)
Boskus' voice on Fire Oasis is slightly more brassy than its Dawn of Fire counterpart. It sings alongside Tweedle, Glowl, and Maw near the end of the song. On Faerie Island, it sounds closer to its Dawn of Fire counterpart and sings alongside Mammott and Kayna. It sings "hub-bub-bub-bub-bub-bub,bub-bub-bub" on Fire Oasis and "om-biddly-bom-biddly-bummm." on Faerie Island. On Light Island, it duets with Mammott and Kayna, singing "bub-bub-bub-bububububub." On Amber Island, it sings "blblblblum, blblblblum-bum-bum-bum" and then "blblblblum-blblblblum-bum-bum-bum-bum" when it joins Flum Ox and Krillby.

Breeding[]
Boskus is bred with the elements Cold and Fire.
Note that unlike Dawn of Fire, breeding Double Element Fire Monsters is not a guaranteed success.
If you already have a Boskus, these breeding combinations are more efficient.
- + Boskus and Rare Boskus
(Best choice, 100% chance of a Boskus if Rare Boskus is unavailable)
- + Boskus and Mammott
(Good choice, if Mammott eggs can be safely disposed of to Nursery, Wublin, Celestial, or Vessel)
- + Boskus and Sneyser
(Good choice, very small chance of Sneyser, can result in Epic Gobbleygourd if available.)
(Good choice, very small chance of Blow't/Pladdie, can result in Epic Potbelly/Epic Noggin if available.)
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Boskus:
- Furcorn (requires level 9) ()
- Phangler (level 9) (, )
- Bridg-it (level 9) ()
- Edamimi (level 9) ()
- Incisaur (level 9) ()
- Drummidary (level 9) (,)
- Puffle Tree (level 14) (, , )
- Flappy Flag (level 9) (, , )
- Digger (level 15) (,, , )
See the Likes page to view a complete list of all Monsters' likes.
Note: Boskus only likes Drummidary on Amber Island, and not on Light Island. Also, on Amber Island, all of Boskus's likes are only obtainable for a limited time. Amber Vessels must be revitalized before they count towards Boskus's happiness.

Revitalizing[]
On Amber Island, Boskus must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Boskus by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds. Eggs can be zapped from Mirror Islands instead of, or in conjunction with Natural and Magical Islands.

Filling In[]
Like other Monsters on Amber Island, Boskus can instead be filled in with Diamonds. Each egg can be filled in for 40. Boskus requires a total of 1,160 for all eggs to be filled.
Since all eggs have an equal Diamond fill cost, it is best to save your Diamonds for the Monsters that are harder to obtain. And oftentimes, it is cheaper to speed up eggs to zap from the Breeding Structure instead.
Wildcards may also be used when filling in a Boskus's inventory. Similarly, it's best to save them for harder to obtain Monsters.

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

Egg Consumption[]
- Main article: Zapping
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Boskus eggs immediately, instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Boskus eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs.

Notes[]
- Boskus' name is derived from the word proboscis, the nose of a mammal, especially if it's long and mobile. Also, bos is the Latin name for cattle.
- Boskus was revealed to be reintroduced in the Fire Oasis reveal.
- Boskus and Flum Ox were the first two Monsters to play in the “beat drop” on Amber Island.
- On November 9th, 2022, Boskus' Amber Island animation was updated. In Boskus' 2nd track, its front feet now jump along with its back feet.
- On Light Island, during Boskus' tracks, a scrapped Woolabee sound and a scrapped Dandidoo sound can be heard if you listen very closely. This can be proven that Light Island was once a Fire Island (like Fire Haven and Oasis), but was scrapped to make way for the Magicals.
- According to this post, Boskus is the third fastest Monster, following Sox and Whajje.
- Unlike every other Double Element Monster on Amber Island, rather than requiring an egg of the Boss Monster of its respective Natural Element, Deedge, Boskus instead requires Riff, the Air Boss.
