My Singing Monsters

If you value your dignity, never challenge a Boskus to a thumb war! Years of lib-flubbering with its nasal digit have given this silly Monster a finger strong enough to lift broken-down Diggers and uproot even the most stubborn of stumps.
Monster Bio

Description

Boskus is a double-element Fire Monster that is first unlocked on Fire Oasis. It was added on June 19th, 2019 during the 2.3.0 Fire Oasis update. It is best obtained by breeding Mammott and Kayna. By default, its breeding time is 10 hours long. As a Double Elemental, Boskus does not have a high coin production.

On Amber Island, Boskus is only available at select times. When available, it is obtained by purchasing in the Market for 10 Relics as a vessel, which then can be revitalized by zapping eggs into it.

Song

Audio Sample:

Voice actor: Unknown

Boskus' voice on Fire Oasis is slightly more brassy than its DoF counterpart. It sings alongside Tweedle, Glowl and Maw near the end of the song. On Faerie Island, it sounds closer to its DoF counterpart and sings alongside Mammott and Kayna. It sings "hub-bub-bub-bub-bub-bub,bub-bub-bub" on Fire Oasis and "om-biddly-bom-biddly-bummm.." on Faerie Island. On Light Island, it duets with Mammott and Kayna.

Breeding

It can be breed with the elements Cold and Fire, so it only has 1 possible combo.

Note that breeding double element Fire Monsters is not 100% guaranteed like double Natural Monsters.

Likes

Every monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the monster, the monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a monster will still only increase its happiness by 25%. If there's a Unity Tree on the island, items don't need to be near the monsters. Below are the things liked by Boskus:

See the Likes page to view a complete list of all monsters' likes.

Note: on Amber Island, Boskus only likes other Monsters, and not any of the available Decorations, and cannot achieve 100% Happiness at this time. It is suspected that future Monsters on Amber Island will increase its Happiness.

Powering Up

On Amber Island, Boskus must be powered up rather than being bred. Unlike Wublins and Celestials, the allotted time to fill a Vessel does not start when the first egg is zapped, but are instead are only available to purchase and fill at select times. The inventory must be completed in this time. When a purchased vessel is incomplete after the time, it will disappear and half of the relics spent will be given back. You will also get the option to revive Boskus by purchasing the missing eggs with Diamonds.

Earning rate is in Coins per minute or Relics per month (28 days) and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.

Feeding Monsters

Each monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the monster's level increases the coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum coins earned.

Egg Consumption

While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Boskus eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available.

Note that bred Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" into inactive Vessels; active ones do not accept Monster eggs. Also note that inactive Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Boskus eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs.

Possible Monster Names

To see all possible names for Boskus, see Monster Names.

  • Some of its names (Shnawz, Snoot and Tronck) are similar to slang terms for the nose.
  • Cameron means crooked nose.

Notes

  • Boskus' name is derived from the word proboscis, the nose of a mammal, especially if it's long and mobile. Also, bos is the Latin name for cattle.
  • Boskus was revealed to be reintroduced in the Fire Oasis reveal.
  • If you pay attention to the Light Island song, you can hear its voice actor trying not to laugh.[citation needed]
  • Boskus and Flum Ox were the first two Monsters to play in the “beat drop” on Amber Island.
