“ | Banjaw's principle tendon is 37 times stretchier than a Stritch Skin, 42 times tougher than a Diamond, and 100 times twangier than, well - anything! Pulling back this durable tendon allows this skeletal character to slingshot anything (or any Monster) great distances. Just beware that you don't get too close to that mighty ring of chompers on your way. | ” |

Description[]
Banjaw is a Triple-Element Magical Monster exclusive to Bone Island. It was added on April 8th, 2020 during Version 2.3.9. It is best obtained by breeding Hawlo and Toe Jammer. By default, its breeding time is 16 hours long. As a Triple-Elemental, Banjaw has a somewhat decent Coin production.
Song[]
Audio Sample:
Instrument: Banjo
Banjaw makes a banjo-like sound.
VSTs[]
Virtual Studio Technology is an audio plugin software that has libraries of sound effects and synthesized instruments. Within these libraries are SoundFonts, which are the individual effects and instruments themselves. The Monster-Handlers utilize several VSTs to create the sounds of instrumental and sometimes vocal Monsters.
VST: PLAY
Sound library: EastWest RA
SoundFont: Banjo Bridge
A similar SoundFont is found in EastWest Goliath, simply called "Banjo".
Breeding[]
Banjaw requires the elements of Water (), Fire () and Bone (). Breeding combinations are as follows:
- Of these, Hawlo+Toe Jammer is the best combination, as failing and breeding a Toe Jammer lets you retry the combo almost instantly.
Banjaw can also be bred in a breeding failures. Some combinations that result in a Banjaw in a breeding failure include:
- + Banjaw and Rare Banjaw
(Best choice, 100% chance of a Banjaw if Rare Banjaw is unavailable)
- + Banjaw and Plinkajou
(Good choice, very small chance of Plinkajou.)
Likes[]
Every Monster has different things that they like. For every unique object that they like that's placed near the Monster, the Monster's happiness will increase by 25%. Placing more than one of the same liked item near a Monster won't increase its happiness by an additional amount. If there's a Unity Tree on the Island, items don't need to be near the Monster. Below are the things liked by Banjaw:
- Fwog (requires level 7)
- Harpsitree (level 14)
- Inverdigus Fern (level 25)
- Meldablend (level 5) ()

Monsters Who Like It[]
The following Monster(s) will increase their happiness by 25% when being placed near Banjaw or when Banjaw and a Unity Tree are on the Island. These may or may not also be Banjaw's likes as well:

Statistics[]
Earning Rate and Maximum Income[]
Earning rate is in Coins per minute and depends on Happiness % (Likes increase Happiness) and Monster Level. Each Monster also has a maximum amount of income it can hold at a time. Increasing the Monster's Level also increases this limit.
Feeding Monsters[]
Each Monster needs to be fed four times before it reaches the next level. Increasing the Monster's level increases the Coins earned per minute, as well as the maximum Coins earned.

More info can be found in the Feeding article.
Egg Consumption[]
While trying to breed other Monsters (particularly Monsters with a very low chance of breeding), the following Vessels can be used to "dispose of" Banjaw eggs immediately instead of putting them into a Nursery and having that Nursery not be available. Note that doing this for Rare Wublins will cause the Wublin to stop producing currency and the eggs will not expire.

Note that Monster eggs can only be "disposed of" before awakening Vessels; afterwards those Monsters will not accept any eggs. Also note that Monsters to which you have already disposed the number of Banjaw eggs that it accepts, will no longer be available as a "recycle bin" for such eggs.

Notes[]
- Banjaw's name is a portmanteau of "Banjo" and "Jaw."
- Banjaw's bodily structure looks similar to the Quad-Elemental of Faerie Island, Pladdie. However, any connection between the two hasn't been officially confirmed.
- In My Singing Monsters Live - Episode #074, it was stated that Banjaw started as a Monster concept for Psychic Island. This iteration was said to saw a long, thin bone piece across its neck. This design was made for the Monster that would later become Rooba, and Banjaw would end up becoming a Bone Island monster instead.
- Before Eggs-Travanganza 2021, Toe Jammer liked Banjaw. It was changed to Uuduk because no Monster had Uuduk as a Like, and another Monster, Fwog, already liked Banjaw.
- In its description, the part of Banjaw that is plucked is referred to as a tendon, despite the fact that it connects a bone to another bone. The correct term for it would actually be a ligament, as tendons connect muscles to bones.
- Banjaw's track sounds exactly the same as Peckidna's second track. It also sounds very similar to Whaddle's track on Amber Island.
- Banjaw and Cantorell are the only Triple-Element Magicals that have 1x1 size.
