Number 12: Primordials
The primordials and ethereals have, to an extent, fallen victim to something I’d like to call “the beast cookie effect”, which is when something comes out of a certain media and it gets so popular that a large chunk of the fandom for that media will only care about when updates to that popular thing arrive.
Number 11: Ethereals
Copy my entry for the primordials and put it here. I only put ethereals lower because I feel like they’re just slightly more overlooked.
Number 10: Paironormals
These and the ethereals could honestly swap places, as I feel like a lot of monsters of this class like Owlesque and Dakktyl nab discussion and popularity away from a lot of other monsters. I only decided to put the paironormals lower because I don’t see as much fan content for them as I do the ethereals.
Number 9: Titansouls
I don’t really know how to explain this one tbh. I mean, they’re cool big boss monsters that do a lot for their islands, what more can I say?
Number 8: Fires
You’re gonna see a lot of ones I don’t have much to say for. I mean, the fires have Bowhead, Gnarls, Yelmut, and a lot of other well-talked about monsters that overshadow some of the other classes, that’s pretty much all I have to say for the fires.
Number 7: Mythicals
The mythicals were already fairly talked about due to DOF and how Hyehehe and Buzzinga were SSS tier monsters, but then came Wanderer Island, which, honestly? Didn’t really help their popularity that much tbh. They’re still popular, that popularity has just stagnated.
Number 6: Magicals
Okay now we’re starting to get into unpopular territory. Just a little bit tho, I mean, have you SEEN how much people talk about Periscorp? But yeah the magicals are kinda average in terms of their popularity for the most part.
Number 5: Celestials
Yeah most of the unpopular classes are classes that haven’t been touched in like 5+ years. Surprisingly enough, the celestials I feel aren’t too behind on the magicals in terms of popularity. I mean, you have monsters like Galvana, uhh I can’t think of any other examples but I’m sure there are some
Number 4: Supernaturals
Epic Wubbox fell off HARD. Used to be the sole reason people cared about MSM in the first place, and even fell into a sort of “beast cookie effect” as mentioned before with the ethereals. Now I don’t think there’s a single person on the planet begging for a new Epic Wubbox besides maybe Wublin.
Number 3: Seasonals
You might be surprised to see seasonals this low, and honestly, I was too. I mean, they have some of the best epic designs in the game, and tympa man is currently making an island on them! That’s basically it tho. I don’t see a single person talk about Jam Boree or Ffidyll or pretty much any seasonal besides how Yool will have to carry Wanderer Island’s percussion.
Number 2: Naturals
Here it is. The first class. The class that hasn’t been touched in near a decade besides Mimic. The class with the ugliest rares, ugliest epics, and least talked about islands in the whole franchise. You might think such a class would rank number 1, but no, there’s 1 more.
Number 1: Legendaries
Here it is. The most forgotten, left to rot class in the entire franchise. The only significance this class on the community was when the Werdos momentarily because popular for like a week or two. Besides that, this class is nothing. It has some of the most forgettable monsters in the game with Shugabush Island (paraphrase), and an island that sparks pretty much zero discussion within the community. No one loves or hates this island, it is just there. The legendaries are the most “there” class in the whole game. And they’ll most likely stay that way.
