Oogiddy

Oogiddy is the best example of a monster that is not at all what your expecting, but in a really really good way. I was never a fan of all the Poison Quad predictions that were just bug, Dronesect, electric guitar, or generic string. I don't know how they came up with something this weird, and somehow make it work extremely well. I'd love to say a lot more, but it's really hard to describe what makes Oogiddy feel so special to me. I'm curious to see how Poison Islet is executed, because while its not as major of a contrast as Jeeode and Rhysmuth, Humbug & Oogiddy still give off different vibes.

I appreciate that the Humbug sale they put out today is the same image as last year with the Oogiddy teaser, as a way to acknowledge the anniversary.

Oh my God I almost missed it! My wonderful baby's birthday!! Though you may be wondering just WHY I love it so much... well...

For a start, have you SEEN him?? In comparison to him, X'rt looks clean! Buddy is bouncing around in a pool of his own, constantly-leaking spit, the entire back of his body is a mouth, and I can't even describe the OTHER mouth! One of the most disgusting Monster designs in the game!

And alongside all that he's ADORABLE!!! He looks so happy, like a little kid playing in the rain. No wonder he has giddy in his name! His little slaps and claps are so energetic and playful, he's having so much fun contributing to the song!

Speaking of which, I understand. It's a little weird that 3/5 Ethereal Quads are percussionists. I get it. But NONE of them are replacable! Oogiddy's cymbals and slimy splats give the song a big oomf, especially in the transitions. Go to Workshop, mute your Oogiddy, and you will FEEL how much more deflated the song sounds. Also he is vital in the first Whaill verse, which just so happens to be my favorite Workshop verse hee hee

A lot of things were stacked against Oogiddy when it came out. The anticipation for the Ethereal Quint (which many gave up on after Oogiddy relased for some reason??), the many Poison Quad predictions before it racking up expectations, and the fact that it was the last Quad and the second to last Workshop Monster overall. I understand that too.

Listen, I know Oogiddy doesn't give everyone the warm fuzzies... BUT HE DOES TO ME, ALRIGHT? He's my special little boi, and I patiently await his return on Poison islet. Happy birthday, son.

After Ffidyll's false arrest and Arakulele's betrayal to the Ghazts, we broke Ffidyll out and finally exiled the X'rts from going onto any island (even Ethereal Workshop, and the Islets) to the Living Ocean where they'll spend for the rest of their lives. Also we kidnapped some of the X'rts and turned them into Oogiddies with the help of Minor Owlesque.

I love him so much, he really makes the song way more alive! And soon, I'll start getting the big guy...
