In-universe, MSM is both a game, as well as a real thing. If you don't believe me, there are a couple of things tat show this, most notably the Festival of Yay 2023 trailer, where we see Tyson playing MSM both at the beginning and end of the trailer, as well as going to the monster world in the past, present, and future. The real question though, is why? WHY is this the case? Perhaps the monster handlers decided to make a video game based on their discoveries? That really does bring to question why they did that. Was it greed? To educate everyone else? Some other reason? I don't really know. Also if any of you guys say something about the trailers not being accurate or canon I swear I will actually attack you-

Incase anyone missed it, Yesterday (July 4th) the official msm discord held the first “Handle hangout” where some of the Monster handlers will answer several fan’s questions

I do believe the biggest lore drop we got is that Etheral workshop & ethereal island are cannonically roughly the *same size*, and the monsters scale accordingly to be the same size as well.

This was disproven by then fact that as you know if you pay attention to the irl part of the lore, MSM, the game, is based on the Monster handler’s “Real life discoveries within the monster world, a different Dimenion from our own”, and the Handlers explained that the way the islands are represented in-game is not “a true, 1-1 scale”. The islands are in fact, way larger, and not perfectly circular as they are shown in game. This is supposedly done to “set an immediate stage for the monsters in game”

Oh also they sorta hinted at an evil counterpart to the monster handlers existing that are studying the monsters also, that may or may have not been related to that one scp-esc video they released but anyway baiiii

It's just so that the monster handlers can rest and not be flooded at 3:00 AM.

You wouldn't like it if YOU got flooded with notifications late at night about all sorts of questions.
