I'm feeling lazy so very minimal shading for today's art.
I went to Nagahama and it was absolutely freezing, didn't help that it was also raining and windy. Young Cranchee is how I felt throughout the whole day, it was worse at night.
I ate croquettes for dinner and thought it'd be nice to incorporate it into my young Knurv doodle.
I did buy Umamusume: Pretty Derby merch for 1,800 yen; a Gold Ship figure for myself.

I headcanon Cranchee to have lead a band 20 years ago (he's now 45 years old) but is really embarrassed about it now (an excuse for me to draw Cranchee blushing). Buzzinga is a supportive best friend who likes whatever he puts out regardless of time.
I went to karaoke tonight with my brother in Oomihachiman. It's in an ÆON mall at Mission. Three hours on non-stop singing songs and it was really fun, it's what I've been looking forward to anyways. I think my voice is ruined though...

I went to an aquarium yesterday and it inspired me to draw Cranchee underwater. I wanted to draw Piplash and Arackulele watching a dolphin show, but was afraid that was too much work.

My "Scallyrags" friend once requested me for a drawing of, "Dakktyl decorating Scallyrags into a Christmas tree." I have attempted so before, Scallyrags looked ugly. This sorta has that concept (Hatsy having Dakktyl's star sunglasses).
I used to ship Dakktyl × Scallyrags, but ever since the Minor forms released, I stopped. Now, I view them as uncle and nephews.
I see Cranchee and Knurv to be okay with each other because of Buzzinga.
I also see Rare Cranchee (who my "Auglur" friend named Krancheesina von Strömbonien) as Cranchee's rich and spoiled older sister. She sent her younger brother lots of expensive gifts for Christmas.
Just like what I did with my Wublin headcanons because I'm very bored.
I see Dreamythicals as the Mythicals' children. Stars (☆) near a monster's name means I like them.

I would say he'd involve his mouth but I'd get banned so I'll say he doesn't. He only uses his hand for pranks.

Very quiet and a bit shy. Appears to talk at a normal amount because his job requires him to.
Works at a cashier at a supermarket, Tympa is his assistant.
Insecure about his bunny teeth.
Knows Cranchee and sometimes meets him because of his father, Buzzinga. Oddly enough, they're quite normal around each other (an excuse for me to draw them together in future fan art because they're my favourite Dreamythicals).

Lyric typography using lyrics from the first half of Bang Jono's chorus at 1:38 (Teto cover because I don't like the original artist's vocals too much).
"Bang Jono" means "Sir Jono", "bang" is a shortened form of "abang" which either means "sir" or "older brother" depending on context (eitherway, it's a masculine nickname).
Translation:
"Back then, you promised you'd bring me diamonds" (Dulu kau janji bawa berlian untukku)
"It's not even guaranteed for us to have even one meal a day" (Sehari makan sekali pun tak tentu)
"You're saying this and you're saying that" (Kau bilang inilah, kau bilang itulah)

Not supposed to reflect what I think of Cranchee's and Buzzinga's relationship, I just think Cranchee would listen to this type of music. I associate him with Buzzinga.

Scargo variants have always released in Mid-December and I don't see a reason why that should stop with Epic Scargo.

Faesoddian Foxglove
It would be wrong if Faerie Island's Titansoul didn't release during the Island's month of origin. I also wouldn't see them pushing it all the way to Cloverspell, maybe Crescendo Moon, but Christmas Eve works better. Faesodd's Titansoul can be the Christmas present for the community to top off one of the biggest years in MSM history.

Greeny's arguments for the Rare Workshopper timeline are too good to ignore.
The home stretch of the year is upon us. It's soon to be nine years since Common Scargo released, six years since Faerie Island released, two years since EW wave two released, two years since Rare Scargo released, two years since Yool first came to Dawn Of Fire, one year since the first Paironormal released, one year since Whaill was first grabbed, one year since Rare Cranchee released, and one year since I lost my mind over a castle. I wonder if any of those things will come into play later.
Anyways, it's theory time!
Costumes:
I was planning on making this idea into its own post in late November, but I kept putting it off, and now it's close enough to FoY that I might as well say it now in my full FoY predictions.
To summarize it, Major Paironormals get costumes for their island's respective Seasonal Events, and Minor Paironormal get costumes for there Out-Of-seasons. By this logic, Minor Shhimmer should get a Festival Of Yay costume with Whiz-Bang's OOS sale also happening in December. One of the things that made me keep putting off this theory was the debate of whether or not the Minors won't get costumes until the Majors do. There's also the idea of the Minors getting respective costumes the year after the Majors do. Y'all already know I care too much about costume distribution.
Seasonal Snacks:
The final two Seasonal Snacks. Fruit cake, something peppermint related, chocolate coins. I don't know, and I don't care atp.
Epic Magical #2:
I'm doing this variant first becuase I'm pulling a Vörös Twins and stealing my idea from someone else. Good 'ol AnonymousTater predicted that the next Epic Magical would be Epic Floot Fly.
"I think we should also see another Epic Magical. I believe that they'll go through the Singles first, in reverse island order! Add the fact that Faerie island released in Festival of Yay, and I think I got a pretty good case for Epic Floot Fly being next."
I wanna specifically highlight the reasoning of it being Faerie Island's anniversary. The final form of THE Faerie element monster in December is a great way to still honor the island's birthday without being too major to the point where FoY is overcrowded (cough cough TitanSoul cough cough this note on the Upcoming Features page is a claim with next to nothing to support it and should fall under speculation which is not allowed but that's just my opinion cough cough.)
Epic Wublin #9:
Much like the Rare Wublins, it's really hard to predict which one is coming next beyond the fact that they're coming every other month. And that's exactly why I have two picks for which one will be next, and they are both as reachy as reaching can possibly get.
First is Epic Scargo. I mentioned earlier that both Common & Rare Scargo were released in the same Seasonal Event. The only other instance of this happening with the Wublins is the first five. Seeing as the Epic Wublin continued that pattern, why not do the same with Epic Scargo. Also, Common Scargo released on the 16th, 16-3=13, Rare Scargo released on the 13th, 13-3+10, the 10th is the day FoY starts this year.
Second is Epic Bona-Petite, which is technically also stolen from Tater's theory, but I came up with my reasoning all on my own.
In a recent short, they showcased a Wublin Island with statues. Only 16/19 of the Wublins are visible in the shot, and that includes the one you can see a tiny bit of to the left, which I'm pretty sure is Tympa. The ones in particular we can't see are Thwok, Blipsqueak, and Bona-Petite. Bona-Petite is the only one of those three that does not have an Epic yet.
Epic Cranchee:
We know the how the story goes at this point. Epic Chranchee will release on any Wednesday of December after the 10th, most likely the 17th. I don't say this very often, but Chranchee is one of my favorite Mythicals. The call and responce with Sporerow is just such a vibe. Rare Chranchee was really really good, so I'm very excited for what they could do with the Epic.
Yool on Wanderer Island:
I almost entirley forgot about this mon. Yool had a lot riding on it, being the only form of percussion when Seasonal Shanty first came out. It eventually got some help from the Aux. Seasonals. But in the case of Wanderer Island, Yool is going to be the only form of percussion period, and in the current state of the song, I think at least some percussion could go a long way.

Dream theories:
A few night ago, I had a dream about this update. From what I remember, Ethereal Workshop look entirely different, Common & Rares swapped places in the Book of Monsters for some reason, Rare Flasque released, and it looked like a molecule, and also Spongebob was there. Last time I talked about an MSM dream, It actually got one thing right (Minor Dakktyl). Will my dreams get something correct again? Is MSM going to collaborate with Nickelodeon and get Spongerobert Squarepanaloons on Ethereal Workshop? If only.
I started writing this two days ago, and every day that passed, more and more Shadow Islet teasers came. It's convinced my brain that I'm running out of time, so that's why I kinda gave up nearing the end. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Something other than OCs for once
Ngl when mythical island was first releasing I was expecting the song to be far more... dreamlike, I guess? And I REALLY wish it went that direction because I am really not a fan of the final song if I'm being totally honest
When I first placed cataliszt, because there were no other monsters yet it only played one very small portion of its full track. And that small portion is absolutely beautiful, imo a perfect vibe for an island about dreams and still my favorite single noise that a monster makes in that whole song. But the more monsters you add, the less and less dream-like it feels, and in the end it sounds nothing at all like the vibes that the first cataliszt set.
That would all be fine if the final song was actually really good, but I don't think I can pinpoint exactly what vibes the final song is supposed to have either. It doesn't feel dream-like, but it doesn't really feel mythical either. (Looking purely at the dreamythicals here since the mythicals had to be the way they are:) Bleatnik is like a weird goat bleat, cranchee is a harsh distorted voice, wheezel is a sub bass synth noise, I mean what exactly were they going for? I think this works if they're going for "weird" as the vibe, but that doesn't at all seem to fit for a "mythical" island with a dark round moon/dream-like design
I don't know, I just think about the initial "oooooooooo"s I felt when I first started the island, and it's sad that it ultimately became one of my least favorites
