I remember this day so well. I remember being an school, forcing myself to not witness it until I had got home. At lunch, I saw a post from DDOMSM saying they got the spider theming correct, and that was the only thing I could think about during my last three classes. At the end of the day, while everyone else was enthralled by the solar eclipse, my mind was flooded with the excitement of Workshop. As I was walking to the park where my dad was picking me up, I couldn't contain myself, and I pulled out my phone to get a quick glimpse. The sunlight was making my phone screen dark, but I opened the game and saw the promotional image. Then, I opened YouTube, and I got a look at X'rt. The first thing that came to my head was "Omg a new X-named monster" because I'm obsessed with letters. I got home, i jumped on my bed, and put on Evolayersen's full song. I noticed as the song was ending that the video still had much time left, so I though the finale verse had finally arrived. But I forgot that Evo always has the monsters sleeping with the bass on at the end of their full songs, and I got sad.
Just like with wave three, as soon as MPG posted his full song video, I downloaded it on my phone to listen to it on the go. My fondest memories are of me listening to it in my art class for some reason. Speaking of memories, going back to MPG's full song of wave four give me so much more nostalgia that any other wave, most likely because of Pentumbra's old sound.
Originally, I had labeled X'rt/Bog as my least favorite Workshopper, but as time went on, I began to ironically love it, and as more time went on, my love became less ironic. It's the perfect representation of how BBB is not afraid to take risks for the sake of the game's integrity. I'm 99% sure they knew X'rt was gonna get a lot of hate, but they kept it in because it embodies the instability of the Ethereals. X'rt is love, X'rt is life, X'rt is NOT a saxophone.
Releasing Pentumbra in the midst of a total solar eclipse was so smart, but the monster itself is super smart too. They heard that they need a Quad that represented Shadow, and they took it too seriously. It's not my favorite Quad by any means, but I have so so so much appreciation for what it accomplishes.
